Corporate Sponsors!!!

In the past I have made mention of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce has sponsored right-wing talk radio shows, including Laura Ingraham’s show. The Chamber actually at one point placed a banner on Ingraham’s site. I’m starting to wonder if Ingraham is sponsored by Americans For Prosperity, which of course we know is a Koch-funded corporate group. Someone brought to my attention the fact that Ingraham has been schilling for the group on her Twitter account.

This is no surprise to me, but it should wake up fair-minded conservatives as to the authenticity of someone like Laura Ingraham. It’s clear that right-wing media figures like Laura Ingraham create an alternative universe for their audience so that the corporate interests they represent are protected, as well as their own self interest.

Some people have tried to justify this by pointing to someone like Ed Schultz, who has been sponsored in the past by unions (2011). However, Schultz, who is employed at MSNBC, has given all the money he has received from union sponsorships to charity. In addition, Schultz earned his money through speaking engagements, not banners on websites.

Has Laura given all of her sponsorship money she has received from the Chamber or possibily Americans For Prosperity to charity? How far does her relationship with the Chamber and other corporate-front groups go? These are questions right-wingers need to ask themselves before they listen to someone like Ingraham.

Hypocrite Ingraham Lashes Out at Republicans.

Today on her radio show, Laura Ingraham conveniently lashed out at Republicans saying, “If you can’t beat Barack Obama with this record, then shut down the party,” she said. “Shut it down, start new, with new people because this is a give-me election, or at least it should be.”

What is hypocritical is the fact that Ingraham supported Romney. In 2008, Ingraham told her audience that “it should be Romney” as far as the nominee. Her support has continued in 2012, so my question is, how come Ingraham, Limbaugh, or Coulter, didn’t support a different candidate during the nomination process? Surely, they could have made a real difference and gone agaisnt the establishment they now condemn.

The reason why Laura Ingraham or any other right-wing radio host has not chosen a candidate is because they are committed to the Republican establishment. If Laura Ingraham supports a different candidate than the one chosen by the establishment, she will lose money. She cares more about her career than any conservative values. Any and all talk radio hosts had their opportunity to back any candidate they felt embodied their values. They didn’t because they would lose face time on television, and access to the establishment Republicans.

This has got to make a lot of right-wingers mad. The fact that a right-wing talk radio host would appear on a panel sponsored by two “liberal” media institutions has to show people Ingraham is a fake. Like I have said all along, Ingraham is not committed to any movement. She is just corporate shill committed to the establishment. Her and Arianna are probably getting drunk with the rest of the 1%ers of the media and the political parties.
