Laura Ingraham Lies about the Bush Tax Cuts.

Major thanks to the folks at Newshounds for providing some of these questions. Last night on the O’reilly Factor, Laura Ingraham spewed her protect THE RICH propaganda at the expense of America. The number of lies out of her mouth are almost too many to keep up with. First she said, Ingraham said, “Obviously, November 2nd was a message that we need less of this big government redistribution of wealth and more returning economic power to the people… We have the wind at our backs and the people with us…The public opinion polls on this are basically let these tax cuts, these Bush cuts, continue, let’s figure out ways to grow this economy.”

Almost every objective observer will tell you that a majority of Americans do not want to have a tax cut for millionaires and billionaires. The latest CNN poll showed that 64% of Americans do not favor the measure. Secondly, Ingraham talks about the people and the redistribution of wealth? First of all, 98% of THE PEOPLE make under $250,000 a year. Furthermore, a look at the last 30 years will tell you that the redistribution of the wealth has ocurred from the bottom up. 66% of the wealth created during the Bush year went to the top 1%. The top income earners earn 25% of all the income today. In 1980 it was somewhere between 8 and 9%. During the last 30 years when adjusted for inflation, the salary of the middle class worker has went down, while the income of the top 1% has grown 466%. If anyone disagrees agrees with these numbers, let me know, and I’ll provide a source of each one of them.

So the question is, what the hell is Laura Ingraham talking about? How can she get away with spreading lies and propaganda? Oh wait, she’s right-winger working for Fox “News.”

Newshounds Does Interesting Write-Up on Ingraham Hypocrisy.

I encourage you to go to Newshounds to read this article for yourself. Basically, they are highlighting the hypocrisy on the part of Bill O’reilly and Laura Ingraham. O’reilly and Ingraham sit still when liberals are fired for giving their points of view- Helen Thomas, Ward Churchill (Who O’reilly said should be fired because of his views) and Bill Mahr. I find it amazing that Ingraham and Oreilly want to be free to make bigoted statements, but don’t want anyone to respond to them.

Ingraham gave props to O’Reilly: “What you said last night to Juan, by the way, when he said, you know, ‘look, Bill there are good Muslims and we have to careful what we say,’ you came on him at that point and said, “look, I’m sick of this political correctness I’m going to say what I believe.” She added that she thinks that “people across the country and on my radio show…people were cheering.” She said that it’s important to “recognize that totalitarian tactics on the left” which she saw when she edited the *Dartmouth Review at which time “they were trying to shut down speech” and now those same Ivy Leaguers are “in position of power” and “are trying to shut down debate today.” According to Ingraham, “people are on to their game” thanks to Fox News and bloggers. She gave “three cheers” to Karl Rove for his comment about a “national momentum to shut down NPR.”

BTW, Laura, the only people who are trying to shut free speech down, are the people at the Chamber of Commerce- which sponsor Laura’s radio show- who accept foreign money to bombard the airwaves with lies, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who gave more rights to corporations, by allowing them to donate more money than any average citizen can to a political candidate.

Ingraham Lies About the Jones Act.

Wherever Laura Ingraham is, you can bet a lie will follow. This morning on the propaganda show known as Fox&Friends, Ingraham lied about the Jones Act.

Media Matters reported the following:

“Ingraham suggests Jones Act has prevented international help from reaching Gulf. Later on Fox & Friends, Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham stated that one of the “things the president needs to talk about and needs to do” is to “waive the Jones Act” so that “all of our technology, all of our manpower, all the skimmers internationally” could reach the Gulf. Ingraham did not note that there are already international ships in the Gulf responding to the spill.”

Out of the 15 international ships attending the gulf, none needed a Jones Act Waiver. The Jones Act obviously does not prevent foreign aid. Will Ingraham retract her lie?
