Ingraham Embarasses Herself at Talk-Radio Seminar.

A few media sites are reporting that Laura Ingraham, who was supposed to present a Womans’ Acheivement Award Friday night in New York City, went into an anti-Obama tirade.

The following excerb was taken from the site Chickaboomer.

“Much less enjoyable, though no-less-instructive, was Talk Radio Network’s Laura Ingraham, who made a FOOL of herself, launching into a room-clearing tirade about Brian Williams’ White House TV special, while she was supposed-to-be introducing Judy Jarvis Award winner and WTKK/Boston PD Grace Blazer. Ingraham’s odd, nasal, lengthy rant validated the angry/predictable/overstated stereotype that political Talk radio suffers. Were I an affiliate PD there, I would have re-thought the decision to clear her show.”

It’s no wonder people in the industry dislike her. Here she is supposed to introduce someone for an award; and she uses the occasion to express her juvenile humor. What a disgrace!

By the way, the above passage was from a radio industry professional, not a blogger.

Laura Ingraham Finally Off WABC!

I’ve been reporting about this for months.  Finally, my predictions have come true.

WABC, New York’s premium AM talk station, has replaced Laura Ingraham’s 9pm to 10pm show with Curtis Saliwa’s new syndicated show, which will air from 9pm to 1 am.  WABC has reportedly tried to cancel Ingraham’s show in the past, but was unable to due to contractual reasons.

As a keen radio industry observer, I could spot all the signs that WABC was unhappy with Ingraham.  Ingraham’s show was reduced to just one hour, despite claims of being the highest rated show on WABC. WABC offered no promotions for the Laura Ingraham show, and WABC hosts refused to mention the shock jock by name.

Why was WABC unhappy? I can’t say for sure, but I do suspect certain things. 1. Ingraham’s show was the only tape delayed show on the network. WABC probably wanted to have live shows each hour. Why would they want to broadcast Ingraham’s stale show from 10 hours earlier. In fact, WABC frequently booted Ingraham in the event of a presidential press conference, or breaking news event.

2. WABC could have been unhappy with the direction of her show. There is no question that Laura Ingraham has become increasingly more of a shock jock the last couple of years. Personal insults, juvenile humor, a bitchy attitude could have rubbed the new program director, Laurie Cantillo the wrong way.

3.  Sean Hannity! While Ingraham was negotiating her contract it was reported that she tried to move into Sean Hannity’s drive-time slots while he was negotiating at the same time. This may or may not be true, but one thing is for sure: Sean Hannity does not like Laura Ingraham!

4. WABC could be looking to cut back. Recently, they dropped fellow hatemonger Bill Cunningham’s pathetic show. Maybe that’s why that got rid of Ingraham.

Even though I am a liberal, I still listen to WABC because it is the only AM station I can get. Alan Colmes and other progressives host do not come in clear enough for me to listen to. I can not tell you what a joy it will be not being able to listen to Ingraham. Believe or not, I can stomach almost any other host on WABC with exception of her and Monica Crowley. Monica Crowley has become an exact clone of Laura Ingraham; immature, juvenile, purposely provactive. We’ll see if WABC keeps her.

Even though I can’t listen to her, I will still report on a daily basis.

It’s official: Ingraham’s show has been reduced on WABC.

As I reported last week, Laura “I pulled a gun out on a boyfriend who broke up with me” Ingraham’s show may be shortened due to schedule changes as WABC here in New York. Well, it turns out I was right. Mark Levin’s show will be three hours, 6 to 9 pm each night on WABC. Levin will officially begin his new hours starting Febuary 2nd. In the meantime, WABC has moved Curtis Saliwa into the 8PM slot, reducing Ingraham’s show to just one hour (from 9pm to 10pm)

I find this odd that they would do this, considering Levin is not to go to three hours until Feb 2nd. Ingraham has been a drag on this station, in my opinion. Her show is the only taped show on an all-live network. WABC reportedly tried to cancel her show but were unable due to contractual obligations. According to reports, Ingraham’s syndication company, Talk Radio Network, threatened to sue WABC if they cancel her show.

I hope they do yank her off the air after her contract expires. Even though I am a committed liberal, I still listen to WABC.
